This Tribal piece was woven by semi-nomadic people of Armenian descent who lived there. They often made use of a cruciform design due to their Christian heritage. Due to the cold climates of winter, they would make carpets with thicker piles to give them warmth. This is one such piece. They would also include some of their pets and livestock. They even have a stick figure of the man of the house near the bottom right side of the field. You can surely tell that it is the Man if you look closely at the design. It's kind of funny and makes it a good conversation piece. All the small floating figures on the dark background were their way of capturing the night's stars. It measures about 4 x 7feet.
