Antique Persian Heriz/Karadja Carpet circa 1910, 53 x 76 inches

This rug is a relic of days gone by. I don't come across pieces as good as this very often. It has a Karadja field design and a Heriz border.  The combination of the rising totem pole-like trees and the four-sided white and blue figures flanking the center medallion and the ends of the field do not often appear in these rugs. This is the only one I have seen with this layout. These are very old symbols and point to a great age. The rug measures 53 x 76 inches. The sides and ends have been professionally secured, and the rug is clean and ready for use.
